The specs in one place
| Asset | Size cap | Recommended dimensions | Other rules |
|---|---|---|---|
| Product image | 2 MB | 1:1, 1024 × 1024 px or larger | JPG, JPEG, PNG, up to 9 images |
| Storefront banner | 2 MB | 2:1, 1200 × 600 px | Varies by slot, up to 5 |
| Product video | 30 MB | No larger than 1280 × 1280 px | MP4 only, 10–60 seconds |
Note the video row: what usually blocks sellers is not the 30 MB but the requirement that duration falls between 10 and 60 seconds. Both a snappy eight-second cut and a thorough ninety-second walkthrough get rejected.
Why phone photos always exceed the cap
A modern main camera produces 4000 × 3000 images weighing three to five megabytes. Shopee renders product images at a few hundred pixels wide on mobile, so those extra pixels never reach a buyer's eye, they only slow the page down.
Scaled to 1024 × 1024 the listing looks exactly the same while the file often drops to a tenth of its original size. That is why the product image preset above handles dimensions and file size together rather than just lowering quality.
Image weight affects your conversion rate
This matters more than whether the upload succeeds. Buyers browse on phones over mobile data, loading nine images per listing:
| Per image | Nine images | On mobile data |
|---|---|---|
| 1.9 MB (barely under) | ~17 MB | Noticeable wait, easy bounce |
| 400 KB (compressed) | ~3.6 MB | Essentially instant |
That is a fourfold difference. "Just under the limit" is not the goal; "as small as it can be without a visible difference" is, which is exactly what this tool defaults to, including a visually lossless pass on files that already fit.
Batch listing workflow
- Pick the product image preset above, or the video preset for clips.
- Drop in the whole batch, up to 30 files.
- When it finishes, hit download all to get a single ZIP.
- Unzip and list. Filenames keep their original stem plus a suffix, so your numbering survives.
The entire batch is processed in the browser, so unreleased product photography never passes through anyone else's machine.
Frequently asked questions
What is the size limit for a Shopee product image?
2 MB per image, enforced by the upload system. The recommended shape is 1:1 square at 1024 × 1024 px or better, which stays crisp on both mobile and desktop listings.
And for product video?
MP4 only, 10 to 60 seconds long, under 30 MB, and no larger than 1280 × 1280 px. The duration window catches more sellers than the file size does, an eight-second clip is rejected just as firmly as a two-minute one.
Why is every phone photo over 2 MB?
Modern phone cameras produce 4000 px images at three to five megabytes. Shopee displays product images far smaller than that, so those extra pixels are invisible to buyers. Scaled to 1024 px the listing looks identical while the file drops to roughly a tenth.
Does compressing hurt how my shop looks?
Done properly it helps. Most buyers browse on mobile data, and lighter images mean faster loads and fewer bounces. What actually looks bad is over-compression causing blocky edges, which is why targeting "just under the limit" beats a fixed low-quality preset.
Can I do a whole batch at once?
Up to 30 files per batch, downloadable together as a ZIP. A single product launch is usually a few dozen images, so batching is considerably faster than one at a time.
